Sgt. Dakota Meyer supports Team 5 as Public Ambassador

Team 5 Foundation is proud to announce Sgt. Dakota Meyer as its official Public Ambassador. As the Public Ambassador, Sgt. Meyer will establish new relationships with other veteran projects, sponsors and foundations to spread the news of Team 5 Foundation's efforts. This will increase awareness of this unique SOFMED veteran foundation which provides care in the most overlooked remote areas of the world. Team 5 is grateful for his support and efforts, and looks forward to working with him to expand the mission so we can deliver care one village at a time.

In 2011, President Obama awarded Sgt. Meyer the Medal of Honor — the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government – in recognition of his acts of extraordinary valor on Sept. 8, 2009. This recognition made Sgt. Meyer the third living recipient of the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War, and the first living United States Marine to be so honored in over 40 years.
